About Me

Hi - I’m Andrew! I’ve been an audio nerd for over 20 years and an audio professional for 10. I’m truly passionate about all things audio. Managing demands and overcoming obstacles during on-set productions is both rewarding and exciting. I’m always learning new things in the field.

The creative aspect of sound design and post-production is nourishing and a nice way to express ideas and feelings where words fall short. Sound design always has my brain churning with new ideas for projects or ways to get new sounds and tell the story better. I love collaborating with creators as a sound designer.

My first job out of college was as a Machine Room Operator at an audio post-production facility in NYC. Although I loved mixing and sound designing, being inside a studio all day with no windows started to get to me and I set out to find something more dynamic - a life as a freelancer.

In 2014, I bought a used mixer/recorder (Sound Devices 744t + 442) and a boom mic setup and took to Facebook and Craigslist to start my illustrious career as a Production Sound Mixer! I worked on EVERYTHING I could find - mainly indie shorts, features and web series. It was a fun time working with genuine creators who weren’t afraid to get in the muck to chase their dreams. It was a time of looooooong days and sometimes longer nights. I made friendships in those trenches that still endure today.

I learned a lot during those indie years. And I met a lot of people. People in the “industry”. So after a couple of years doing indie productions I began to make some professional contacts and I found myself mixing and recording corporate videos. And then web promos. And then TV promos. And then TV shows. And sometimes even TikTok videos! Wow - ya never know what seeds will grow. Just water them all!

While production is my bread n butter, post-production mixing and sound designing is always a creative outlet for me and something I continue to expand and explore the possibilities of. I typically have a sound design or mixing project I am working on while continuing to go out and record in the field. The creative side of sound design is always calling my name and I always look for projects that allow me to indulge that side of things.

When I’m not working, I cook like it’s my job - and let’s face it, it kind of is because someone’s gotta do it! Just kidding. I love cooking and eating. I enjoy riding my Honda CB500x (mostly on-road but sometimes off). I enjoy camping and hiking with my wonderful wife Michelle. I also love good craft beer. And bourbon. And wine. You get the picture.
